You know, I was reading in my Woman’s Day magazine and they were talking about losing weight and to stick to what helped you lose weight. Last Fall, I started using a modified version of the WW points system. I didn’t join WW, but I had a friend that shared the point values with me. I lost almost 25 lbs, without the added exercise.
Well, I’m more mobile now with work, running to practices with Scoober, playing around with Winks, and now all the outside yard work, etc. to do, but my diet is struggling.
So, for my 36th birthday, argh 36, I am going to figure out my points system and start doing it again. I’m going to figure out Husband’s too, as he is having problems with his blood sugar and it’s partly weight related. If I could lose another 25 lbs before the holidays like last year, I will be at my goal weight of 150lbs.
I’ve really just let myself and my eating go as of late. I’ve got the love handles back on my waist and I’m tired!
I vow this week to get back on my WW points program I started last year that helped me lose 25 lbs. Hopefully I can get the remaining 20 lbs off before the end of the year.
For those of you using the Slimfast system, I applaud you, actually, I envy you. I love the taste of their shakes, I love the meal replacement bars, but what I don’t love is the gas and bloating I am experiencing while using the products! OMG! I have never been bloated and had such terrible gas as long as I’ve had it using this system.
Am I doing something wrong? I’m using the Optima system, which has less sugar, which I felt was good. I’m trying to drink water, which sometimes I fall short on. I drink coffee in the mornings, and I eat a sensible lunch and dinner. Husband is experiencing the same things, so I think it has to be the system.
So, now I’m back to wanting to following the Weight Watcher point system and make Husband do that one, too. That’s how I lost my first 22 lbs, so maybe I should stick with what works.
So, Husband and I are both losing weight. Not as fast as we would want, but we are trying. Husband really has limited time for eating at work, so I’m challenged to find him different things he can eat while working.
We’ve decided to start using SlimFast Optima. We bought some and used it last week, and really like the taste of the shakes and the bars. Now, I’ve just got to make sure I can make us our lunch and snacks according to the plan guidelines.
WW was okay for me, but there is no way that Husband could eat within the specified point range he would be in, and that’s why the change. I thought it was better that we both do the same thing, that way we can support each other.
Anyway, my weigh in today is 175 lbs. Still kind of stuck, but I’m going to start doing some leg exercises to strength up. As soon as the daylight sticks around later in the evenings, we can go on our family walks again.
Well, I have yet to add any exercise, but we are SO busy anyway with taking Scoober to basketball and scouts, and me chasing after Winks, that I think I get a lot of exercise, just not the traditional kind.
I’m down to 172 lbs now. I’ve got 22 lbs to go before the end of the year. I’d like to lose it before summer, but I’m not going to push it.
Husband is losing some weight, too. His stress from work sometimes keeps him from losing weight because he tends to want to snack more to get those “feel good” endorphins. I pack him a lunch everyday, well, most days, and it’s nutritious, so I think that is helping.
Well, I wasn’t able to get down to 170 before the end of 2008, and I’ve been on a plateau for the past couple of weeks, but I’ve finally gotten to 173 this week.
I honestly haven’t been making very good food choices, BUT I do keep to smaller portion sizes no matter what I’m eating, and I think that helps.
I’ve got to incorporate some sort of exercise; i.e. squats, leg lifts or something. It does no good to lose weight if you cannot tone your body afterwards. So, I’ll be working on that in the coming weeks.
